FAQ

What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light. It's one of the most widely studied areas of light-based wellness, and many people use it as part of their skincare, recovery and general wellbeing routine.

How do I use my panel?
It's simple: position the panel around 60cm from the area you're focusing on, with the light reaching bare skin, and use it for roughly 10–20 minutes per area. Most people use it several times a week. Your VITARA user guide includes the full recommended protocols for each panel.

How soon will I notice a difference?
Everyone's different, and red light works best as a consistent habit rather than a one-off. Rather than expecting overnight changes, most people simply build it into their routine over a number of weeks. We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so you can try it in your own routine with confidence.

Is red light therapy safe?
Yes. It's non-invasive and pain-free when used as directed, and most people find sessions relaxing and easy to fit into their day. As with anything, follow the usage guidelines in your VITARA guide, and see the question below on who should take extra care.

Is there anyone who should take extra care?
Red light therapy is well tolerated by most people, but if you're pregnant, taking any medication that can increase light sensitivity (some antibiotics and skin treatments do), or have a condition affecting your skin or eyes, we'd recommend checking with your doctor before you start. If in doubt, a quick chat with a healthcare professional is always the safest route.

Do I need eye protection, and is it included?
Eye protection isn't compulsory, but the LEDs are very bright, so many people prefer to wear goggles for comfort and we include a pair with every panel. We'd recommend not looking directly into the LEDs for prolonged periods during a session.

Do I need bare skin, or can I use the panel through clothing?
Bare skin is best. Fabric absorbs light and reduces how much reaches your skin, especially thicker or darker materials. The recommended 10–15 minutes at the stated distance assumes bare skin, so if you keep a light layer on, extend the session a little to compensate. Clean skin without heavy lotions or makeup gives the most consistent results.

Will it give me a tan?
No. red and near-infrared light don't stimulate melanin the way UV rays do, so there's no tanning and no UV exposure. Many people use red light as part of their skincare routine to support healthy-looking skin instead.

Do the panels really have no EMF or flicker?
Yes. VITARA panels are flicker-free, with effectively zero EMF at the recommended usage distance. It's one of the specs cheaper panels often can't match, and part of why we're confident putting our name behind them.

Which should I choose, the Essential or the Elite?
Both use the same five wavelengths and the same build quality. The Essential (75 LEDs) is our targeted panel ideal for focusing on a specific area, like the face or a particular muscle group. The Elite (100 LEDs) is larger and higher-output, better suited to broader coverage and full-body sessions. If you're mainly targeting one area, the Essential is plenty; if you want to cover more of the body each session, go Elite.

Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. every VITARA panel comes with a 2-year warranty. If anything goes wrong, we'll put it right.

What's your returns policy?
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee: if a panel isn't right for you, return it within 30 days for a refund. Full details, including how to arrange a return, are on our Returns page.

How long does delivery take?
We offer free UK shipping on all orders, and panels are typically dispatched within 1–2 working days.

Is it easy to set up?
Very. Each panel arrives ready to use with a UK power cable, and most people are up and running within a few minutes. The user guide walks you through the rest.
